Categories: main-dishes Tags: pork apples sage shallots

Pork chops with applesauce has been a staple in many cultures; cooking pork with apples and onions/shallots is a divine way to prepare this meat. This recipe makes things go even better with the addition of cinnamon and sage.

Ingredients

  • 3 Apples
  • 3 Shallots
  • 5 tablespoon Coconut Oil
  • 2 tablespoon Chopped Fresh Sage
  • Cinnamon
  • Salt
  • 5 Large Bone-In Pork Chops
  • ¼ cup White Wine (I like gewurtz with pork)

Directions

  1. Slice Apples.

  2. Thinly slice Shallots.

  3. Chop Sage.

  4. Melt 4 tablespoons of Coconut Oil in a large fry pan over Medium heat. Add Apples, Shallots and Sage. Sauté for 5 min. Remove Apple Sauté from pan and set aside.

  5. Show your Chops some love, rub a generous amount of Cinnamon & Salt onto both sides.

  6. Melt the remanding 1 tablespoons Coconut Oil in the fry pan.

  7. Place your Chops in fry pan.

  8. Sear on both sides for 2 minutes.

  9. Measure out ¼ White Wine.

  10. Pour White Wine over Chops. Allow sauce to come to a boil – this will cook all the alcohol out.

  11. Add the Apple Sauté back to the fry pan, over the Pork Chops.

  12. Cover, turn heat down to Low. Let cook for 7 minutes (give or take, depending on thickness of meat).
